Course Information
The aim of this course is to prepare students to progress to Early Childhood Care and Education QQI Level 5. This is an introduction to childcare to see if studying childcare suits your needs and help you assess if you can develop a career in childcare. The course will give you a ‘taste’ of childcare as well as skills required to successfully study at a higher level, such as word processing and advanced writing skills.
Progression
The course is structured to provide students with an opportunity to develop their skills required for progression to further training and qualifications in Childcare.
Entry Requirements
This course is an opportunity to assess if a career in childcare suits you and your learning needs. Come try this out with the view to progressing to a full Early Childhood Care and Education QQI level 5 course.

This course will be:
Part Time – Morning attendance required.
Eligibility
This course is funded under BTEI funding. In order to be eligible, applicants must be;
- An Early School leaver, and/or
- In receipt of a Social Welfare Payment or
- Have a GP or Medical Card
- Students can pay a fee if they are not eligible
for funding - Signing for Credits
