Course Information
The aim of this course is to provide students with the necessary skills and qualification to work in a childcare environment in a supervisory capacity as a room leader.
Progression
The course is structured to provide students with a high standard of training and assessment leading to a recognised qualification as a room leader in a childcare facility. The course also provides students with the opportunity to pursue further or higher education and employment.
Entry Requirements
All candidates are required to have an interest in working with children. To ensure that you are offered a place on a course which is at the right level for you and appropriate to your learning needs all applicants are assessed prior to placement on the course.
Certification
ELC Stage 2 Advanced Certificate in Early Learning and Care Level 6
Attendance
This course will be:
Day Option: Morning and Afternoon
Evening Option: Evening attendance required & some
Saturdays.
Work Experience Placement
Work experience is a core element of this programme. Students will be required to complete 120 hours of work experience throughout the course, which they will be required to organise themselves.
Eligibility
This course is funded under BTEI funding. In order to be eligible, applicants must be;
- An Early School leaver, and/or
- In receipt of a Social Welfare Payment or
- Have a GP or Medical Card
- Students can pay a fee if they are not eligible for funding
- Signing for Credits
Location
This course takes place in Balbriggan.
